This past July Janome assembled their 50 millionth sewing machine. WOW! Apparantly Janome has no intention of losing their title as “the world’s largest manufacturer of home sewing machines” anytime soon. Part of being a world leader is staying ahead of the industry, being creative, innovative and of course, making a high quality product at an affordable price. Here is a taste of what is new and improved from Janome.

Every year Lynette Jensen finds a way to make club better than before. 2009 will be no exception. In fact when a club program gets this good it deserves a special unveiling. If you like country quilts with a traditional look that goes together easily, you need to come learn about Thimbleberries Club 2009. Next year's theme "3's Company."

Thanksgiving Weekend

It has become as much a part of the Thanksgiving holiday as family and the ol’ turkey itself…weekend classes at Quilters' Corner. This year we have a team project for you and your favorite quilting relative or friend. The quilt is called “Trip for Two to Boston” - a “Boston common” pattern made out of batiks. The hook is that while making this particular pattern, you will complete two quilt tops. It’s perfect for a team to assemble - one person cuts and presses while the other person sews. Just ask Johnna and Ellen how much fun this can be. Join us for two days of sewing fun on the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, and leave the football and leftovers to the guys.

Christmas is Coming

Make this year unique by getting your Christmas projects done early. The fabric is in stock, but going fast! We have several great kits for both autumn and winter themes. Knowing that it is easier to decorate with small quilts, we have several table runner ideas for you, as well as some great wall quilts. For example, wool pennies make great decorations or gifts. Stop in to see our samples and selection. We have everything from whimsical to elegant, and large or small.

Surprises can be fun and gift cards are nice – but don’t we all just prefer to get what we really want?!? Let us help ensure that you get what you want most from Quilters' Corner, with the bright green Quilter’s Wish List now available for pick-up. We can help you fill it out if you would like. Then take it home or send it to Santa and get ready for a wonderful Christmas.

Angels are everywhere

If you like angels, you’ll love our newest Block-of-the-Month program. Available in October, “I believe in Angels” is a nine month program featuring yet another fantastic pattern from Bunny Hill Designs. This is her cutest one yet, so don’t miss out – sign up today!

How does a BOM program work? The quilt top is pre-kitted for you (one block a month) with all the pieces labeled. You simply purchase one block each month and take it home to work on at your leisure. These blocks are both pieced and appliquéd, but the instructions from Bunny Hill Designs are well written and easy to follow.

Construction update

TRAFFIC DETOURS (call for updates 255-8838)

As you probably know, the construction in front of Quilters’ Corner (the 400 block) is mostly complete. The new landscaping and street lights will be installed this fall, but at least the parking is open. However, the other blocks are still being worked on so detours and barricades are still part of driving downtown. Just know that your best bet is to come in on 4th Street (southbound) and either turn onto Colorado Ave (to park on the street) or go to the alley just past the Pawn Shop and turn into the new parking area on the west side of our building. We appreciate all of you who continue to brave the dust in favor of beautiful fabrics, knowledgeable staff and an inviting atmosphere.

This Fall, keep things hot with Machine Embroidery!

There is no doubt that machine embroidery continues to be one of the most popular crafts in the sewing industry. The machine technology continues to improve in both quality and ease of use. The designs are just becoming spectacular and the software that is now available is nothing short of an artist’s dream. Quilters’ Corner is dedicated to keeping up with the trends and bringing you the things that you want. We remain the exclusive source for Floriani stabilizers and the full collection of RobisonAnton polyester embroidery thread. We are working to expand our design offering with two new companies (by popular demand). We have new ideas for clubs, programs and products. Supported by Janome’superior products, our collection of samples and ideas for you continues to grow and improve. We’re excited for this fall and winter,...you should be too!
